Natalie Lee from Style Me Sunday proves that grey days don’t have to be dull with these colourful styling tricks
As I travel on the tube, I look around me and all I can see is a sea of dark colours. Why do people tend to only wear black, brown and muted tones in the winter? For me, dressing in vibrant colours helps to lift my mood, especially when it is cold and drizzly outside. So, here’s my edit to inspire you to add some brighter tones to your winter wardrobe.
This all-red outfit is absolutely breathtaking. The leather skirt is a classic and something that I will treasure forever. I feel powerful and confident in this look and that is the best feeling you can get from clothes. Fashion has the power to be transformative, so don't just settle for your usual dark wintry clothing: add some colour and feel the benefits.
M&S’s coat game is incredibly strong this season – there are so many great options for you to choose from. I’ve gone for this checked double-breasted boyfriend coat because it has a timeless feel, making it a wise investment that you’ll be able to wear for many years to come. I’ve sized up because I think this coat looks great oversized, too.
The ribbed polo neck is my favourite M&S item – I have it in many different colours because it just works so well with everything. Sometimes I layer one under a summer dress to make it more seasonally appropriate.
These peachy and brown tones are beautiful and perfect for this season, adding richer hues to the darker palette. A simple, fitted top and cigarette trousers look elegant yet relaxed, meaning this outfit would work in many settings. The top is great for layering under a jumper or cardigan to allow for flexibility with the changing temperatures.
